About the Benefit

Each year the Spring Benefit transports guests to a unique destination, and Passport to Africa, Discovery of a Continent promises to send guests to a land rich in ancient history and culture. In addition to exploring Africa, guests will partake in dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction. Tickets for the Benefit will go on sale in February. Select levels of 1984 Club membership include tickets to the Benefit, so joining the 1984 Club is a great way to experience the Benefit and support AIS. You can also support the Benefit by becoming a sponsor and/or donating an auction item. For additional information, contact Jay Denslow, Special Events Manager, at (404) 841-3841 or .

Goals of the AIS Spring Benefit

All proceeds from the Benefit contribute towards financial aid scholarships, faculty development programs, and continued preservation of the historic campus buildings.

This years goals are:

1. Raise money for AIS.

2. Celebrate the people and cultures of Africa. Each year, the Benefit transports guests to a different destination and invites them to experience its unique food and entertainment. This year the Spring Benefit Committee is committed to representing the continent of Africa respectfully and fairly. Guests are invited to dress in attire native to the theme, wear their own country's national dress or black tie.

3. Educate the AIS community about Africa. Throughout the academic year, AIS will present opportunities to learn more about African cultures, including: WorldFest, lectures, and more.

4. Make new friends. The Spring Benefit depends on volunteers, and by volunteering for a Benefit committee, parents can meet other parents from all of the different school grades. Volunteers are needed for auction acquisitions, parent projects, set up, and decorations.
